Theme: On 11 February 1929, in the Hall of Honor of the Lateran Palace, during the pontificate of Pope Pius XI, the «Lateran Pacts» were signed, signed between the Holy See and Italy, with which for the first time since Unification of Italy regular bilateral relations between Italy and the Holy See were established.
The independence and sovereignty of the Holy See was therefore recognized, and at the same time the Vatican City State was formally founded.
