Prince William Frederick Henry of the Netherlands (13 June 1820 – 14 January 1879) was the third son of King William II of the Netherlands and his wife, Grand Duchess Anna Pavlovna of Russia. Prince Henry became Governor of Luxembourg in 1850, in which capacity he served until his death in 1879.

The Vigili del Fuoco is Italy’s institutional agency for fire and rescue service. It is part of the Ministry of Interior’s Dipartimento dei Vigili del Fuoco, del Soccorso Pubblico e della Difesa Civile (Department of Firefighters, Public Rescue and Civil(ian) Protection). The Corps’ task is to provide safety for people, animals and property, and to give technical assistance to industries, and provide fire prevention advice. It also ensures public safety in terrorist emergencies such as chemical, bacteriological, radiological and nuclear attacks.

Giovanni Battista Tiepolo (March 5, 1696 – March 27, 1770), was an Italian painter and printmaker from the Republic of Venice who painted in the Rococo style, considered important member of the 18th-century Venetian school. He was prolific, and worked not only in Italy, but also in Germany and Spain. The obverse of the 2-euro coin, depicts the moment when the angel sent by God rescues Hagar and Ishmael who had lost their way in the desert, pointing to a spring of water.
The detail is taken from the painting “Hagar and Ishmael”, one of Tiepolo’s absolute masterpieces and is kept at the Scuola Grande di San Rocco, an important Venetian brotherhood.
